Would you be able to get up off of the floor if you fell and were home alone? 1 out of 4 older adults in the United States report falls every year. These falls can result in life-changing injuries. Of the people that fall in our area, about ⅓ have to contact emergency services for assistance getting up from the floor.
We’re excited to partner with the Crystal Lake Public Library to bring you a hands-on, fall recovery workshop led by our very own Physical Therapist, Dana Tress!
This interactive workshop will discuss falls, common ways people fall, and strategies for independently getting up from the floor. This workshop is designed to be interactive with immediate techniques and exercises you can begin using to maintain your independence with fall recovery. If you would like to practice during class, feel free to bring items such as a yoga mat and knee pads (not required).
Registration is required through the Crystal Lake Library. Registration will open a couple weeks prior to the event.
If you are interested in hosting this popular workshop at your facility, please click here and complete the form. We will get back to you to schedule.
